School Lunches
Lunchtime is an important part of the school day.
It is a chance for children to enjoy a healthy meal, spend time with friends and recharge before an afternoon of learning. At Grafton Primary School, we want lunchtime to be a positive, relaxed experience where children feel comfortable, well cared for and ready to make the most of the rest of their day.
We are proud to offer freshly prepared school meals that provide children with a balanced, nutritious diet while introducing them to a wide variety of flavours and ingredients.
Free School Meals for Every Child
All children attending Grafton Primary School are entitled to a free school meal, funded by Islington Council.
Although meals are free, all parents and carers must register their child. Registering helps ensure that the school receives the funding it is entitled to and allows us to provide the best possible support for all of our pupils.

Freshly Prepared Every Day
Our school meals are provided by Caterlink, Islington Council's catering partner.
Meals are freshly prepared using quality ingredients, with menus carefully planned to provide a healthy, balanced diet that children enjoy.
Ingredients include:
- Free-range eggs accredited by the RSPCA Assured scheme
- Sustainably sourced fish certified by the Marine Stewardship Council
- Red Tractor assured British meat wherever possible
- Fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables
Our menus are designed to encourage children to explore new foods while ensuring there is always something familiar and enjoyable to choose from.
Special Diets and Allergies
We understand that some children have medical, cultural or dietary requirements.
If your child has a food allergy, intolerance or requires a special diet, please let the school know as soon as possible. We work closely with our catering provider to ensure that children can enjoy safe, suitable meals that meet their individual needs.
Our School Menu
Our menu changes regularly to reflect the seasons and to provide children with a varied and balanced choice of meals.

Helping Children Develop Healthy Habits
Lunchtime is about more than eating.
It is an opportunity for children to develop independence, to practise good table manners, to make healthy choices and to enjoy conversation with friends.
Trying something new, sitting together and sharing a meal are all valuable parts of growing up and contribute to the welcoming, inclusive community that we value so highly at Grafton.
